This trip departs from Surbiton at 06.00hrs - members making overnight arrangements for the Saturday must inform the leader that they are meeting up there.
The early start is well worth it as the 2006 reports suggests - the GOLDEN ORIOLE is the main prize - this bird is a bright yellow with black wings and tail, it is hard to describe the intensity of the yellow........ it. is "supercar" yellow! The song, a beautiful flutey whistle resounds in the air, the male singing from the canopy and then flying with longish undulating bounces. Other possible highlights are HOBBY, CUCKOO and MARSH HARRIER. COMMON CRANE now nest on the reserve and STONE CURLEW and WOODLARK can be seen locally.  BREAKFAST ELT
